In patients with glaucoma, reducing elevated IOP is the only treatable risk factor to prevent vision loss. The most common treatment to reduce elevated IOP is medication in the form of eyedrops like ALPHAGAN® P. These medications decrease IOP, either by reducing the production of aqueous humor within the eye or by increasing the drainage of it from the eye. Laser treatment or even surgery may be needed when medical treatment alone is insufficient.
